Rittal VX25 and Ri4Power – Authorised Assembler
Team Switchgear is an authorised Rittal Ri4Power Assembler – one of the few facilities in the UAE trained and approved by Rittal to assemble Ri4Power modular busbar-based power distribution systems to IEC 61439 standards. The Rittal Ri4Power system uses a modular busbar with plug-in modules – MCCBs, ACBs, fuse disconnectors, and measuring units – that snap directly onto the busbar without cable connections, reducing assembly time and improving reliability. VX25 enclosures provide the mechanical structure, with class-leading internal space, superior cable management, and IP55 protection. For large industrial MDB and switchroom projects requiring high-reliability IEC 61439-compliant LV assemblies, Ri4Power is the premium specification.

What is Form 2 and Form 4 in an MCC panel?
Form 2 and Form 4 refer to the internal separation (segregation) level within a low voltage motor control centre, as defined by IEC 61439-2. Form 2 provides separation between busbars and functional units (individual starters and circuit breakers), giving basic protection against accidental contact with live busbars when a starter is being worked on. Form 4 provides a higher level of segregation – each functional unit is individually enclosed, with separate cable compartments for each outgoing motor circuit. Form 4 Type 7 is the highest level, with individual cable compartments per unit allowing maintenance on one starter without affecting adjacent circuits. UAE Oil & Gas, petrochemical, and industrial projects typically specify Form 4 MCC for process-critical motor loads, while Form 2 is used for lower-criticality applications. Team Switchgear manufactures both Form 2 and Form 4 MCC panels to IEC 61439-2 with full type test documentation.
Do HVAC BMS systems in UAE need to comply with DEWA Green Building regulations?
Yes. Buildings in Dubai classified under DEWA’s Al Sa’fat Green Building Rating System (mandatory for new buildings from 2016) must include energy sub-metering and monitoring capable of producing DEWA-compliant energy consumption reports. This means the BMS must include kWh metering for HVAC, lighting, and other major loads, with logging at 15-minute intervals and the ability to generate annual energy reports per DEWA’s energy monitoring requirements. ALC WebCTRL includes an ASHRAE 50/50 Energy Reports module that generates DEWA-compatible energy data. Siemens Desigo CC includes ISO 50001-aligned energy analytics. For Abu Dhabi Estidama projects, the Pearl Rating System has specific energy monitoring requirements aligned with ASHRAE 90.1 that our BMS designs address at the points schedule stage.
