Distribution boards from Main Distribution Boards (MDB) and Sub Main Distribution Boards (SMDB) down to Final Distribution Boards (FDB) and tenant boards are the fundamental building blocks of low-voltage electrical distribution in every UAE commercial, residential, and industrial project. Team Switchgear and Control LLC designs, manufactures, and tests a comprehensive range of distribution boards from our Dubai facility, built to IEC 61439-1, using components from Siemens, Schneider Electric, and ABB, and approved for DEWA, FEWA, SEWA, and all major UAE utility authorities.

Distribution Board Types

Main Distribution Board (MDB): Receives supply from the main LV switchboard or transformer LV terminals and distributes to SMDBs. Typically ACB or large MCCB incoming, MCCB or fuse switch outgoing. Ratings from 630A to 6000A.

Sub Main Distribution Board (SMDB): Intermediate panel fed from MDB, distributing to risers and floor distribution boards. MCCB incoming and outgoing, with RCCB protection on sensitive circuits. Ratings 100A to 2500A.

Emergency Distribution Board (EMDB): Fed from emergency supply (generator or UPS) for life safety and critical loads. Includes automatic changeover relay and priority load shedding.

Lighting Distribution Board: MCB outgoing circuits for lighting, with RCCB protection, NHP dimmer interfaces, and DALI lighting control interface where required.

Final Distribution Board (FDB): Tenant and zone-level boards with MCB outgoing circuits for sockets, fixed equipment, and lighting. Available surface-mount or flush-mount in powder-coated steel enclosures.

What approvals are required for distribution boards in Dubai?

Distribution boards in Dubai must comply with DEWA’s wiring regulations and use components from the DEWA approved vendor list. The panel design must meet IEC 61439-1, and the internal wiring must comply with IEC 60364 as adopted by DEWA. For residential projects in Abu Dhabi, ADDC/AADC approval is required. We design all our distribution boards to the relevant utility authority standard and can supply the full technical compliance package required for utility connection applications.

Can you supply distribution boards with smart metering for DEWA sub-metering?

Yes. We supply distribution boards with MID-certified (Measuring Instruments Directive) kWh meters for individual tenant or circuit sub-metering, with Modbus RTU output for integration with building energy management systems. For DEWA-compliant smart metering in multi-tenanted buildings, we supply the metering boards pre-wired with DEWA-approved meter types and cabinet configurations per DEWA’s Distribution Network Code requirements.
