Can the fuel control panel include SIL-rated overfill protection?
Yes. For fuel systems requiring Safety Integrity Level (SIL) rated overfill protection particularly LPG, aviation fuel, and large diesel storage we can design the overfill protection function to SIL 1 or SIL 2 using certified safety instruments (level switches, voting logic) and a safety-rated relay or safety PLC (Siemens ET200SP HA or equivalent). The SIL verification calculation and FMEA/LOPA documentation is provided as part of the safety instrumented system (SIS) documentation package.
